Downtown Rogers just has that special ambiance nestled in a gorgeous part of the Natural State with its historic buildings and brick lined streets! Yet it is one of the fastest growing places in the nation! Who could resist all of the quaint shopping and dining experiences, the museums and the art galleries, along with the local festivals and farmers markets!

In fact over $60 million has been invested into this thriving area. This includes the recent revitalization of Lake Atalanta Park, the addition of the Rail Yard Bike Park and the original Lane Hotel currently being brought back to life. Only a short drive from Downtown, you will find some awe-inspiring views of nature at its finest around Beaver Lake, complete with fishing, camping, hiking and water sport activities. It is hard to imagine a better place to live.

The Railyard is a natural surface bike park that is fun for all levels of bike riders. A paved path connects to Lake Atalanta Park as well as other multi use trails connecting to both Lake Atalanta and Pleasant Ridge trails. We really enjoy visiting this unique park that also features a doggie station/park, drinking fountains, off road bike trail, parking, picnic tables, restrooms (seasonal), trail system and walking trail. This is a great place to get out and enjoy nature!

Downtown Rogers has really come to life lately. The charm of the brick streets, the amazing food and the new Farmer's Market make it a real gem. The Iron Horse Coffee Company gets your day off to a good start with their large selection of tea and coffee. Plenty of lunch choices and shops to enjoy. Every summer on Thursday night you can catch a movie at the Farmer's Market. Hope to see you down there!

Downtown Rogers is getting better all the time -- and an article on TalkBusiness.net affirms that investment in the area is beginning to see results!

From a modern bike part to a year-round Farmers Market, Rogers has been making changes to create a vibrant downtown.

According to the article, the city spent about $450,000 last year on a master economic development plan to guide downtown growth. The centerpiece of the downtown area is nearby Lake Atalanta, which is months away from a $5 million revitalization of the Lake Atalanta Park.

We've seen other developments in the downtown Rogers area that have encouraged interest in further efforts in the future, including the opening of a new Walmart Neighborhood Market. Also, the historic Lane Hotel building was purchased last year by buyers closely associated with the Walton Family Foundation. No details have been released, so we'll have to wait and see what comes of it, but some speculate the building may become a charter or private school. The hotel once hosted famous Americans such as Amelia Earhart.

Love to eat? So do we! Especially at the local establishments. Over the last few years there have been many local eateries open up in the downtown Rogers area.

One of our favorite places to frequent is The Rail, a pizza place that serves up a wonderful homemade style pizza or Garlic Parmesan Wings. Located on 1st Street, The Rail also offers an outdoor patio to enjoy an ice cold one on a hot summer day. If you like a good pizza with great service, stop in at The Rail.

Another good place to check out is Levi's Gastrolounge located on 2nd Street. It's a funky basement bar in a historic building that serves a gourmet burger that is so yummy. They are also open for Sunday Brunch.

Get off the beaten path and check out the dining options in downtown Rogers. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the many options available.

Have you visited War Eagle Cavern between Rogers and Eureka Springs? If not, this an absolute must-see attraction, and it's now open for the spring! War Eagle Cavern is one of nature’s wonders. Guided visitors follow a stream through the cavern, while viewing beautiful formations, fossils and waterfalls.

Construction in 2013 made it possible for visitors to see more of War Eagle Cavern. These were areas that only experienced cavers had been able to access. Now, visitors have access to the unreachable areas of the cavern. Crystal Hallway was recently opened and it leads to other paths within the cave including to Mirror Lake. In 2014, War Eagle Cavern was awarded Trip Advisor’s Certificate of Excellence Award!

I grew up in a family with four uncles that served as fire fighters in Texas. So I was around fire stations and fire trucks quite a bit when I was young. Therefore, I was always reminded of the commitment and service that goes with this noble profession!

The Rogers Fire Department is committed to the preservation of life and property in the Rogers community. There are seven stations located around the city. The fire department also offers community programs that interact with the general public and provide education on many levels. The six programs are: Citizens Fire Academy, Fire Prevention Week, Free Smoke Alarms, Frisco Festival and Station Tours/ Special Events.

The Historic War Eagle Mill is host to an Arts and Crafts Fair every October. This year, the event will start October 16 - 19. It's a nice experience for all ages and also is a good event where you can find creative things for decor, wear and fun. Come enjoy the fair and the fun.
  • If you want to get a men's haircut in a real, old-fashioned barbershop, then Charlie's Barbershop, in Rogers is the place for you! Charlie has been cutting hair for over 50 years and is still going strong. My barber, Clovis, is a retired United States Air Force Tech. Sergeant. He has served his country around the world and one of his most exciting assignments was being attached to an aircraft recovery team! It's an honor to have such a patriot cut my hair.

Charlie's Barbershop is located at 401 South Main, in Rogers. No appointment is needed. Pop-in, sit-down, read one of the many firearm magazines in the shop, and get ready for a fast and friendly haircut.

I always enjoy this remarkable area nestled alongside the Osage and Turtle Creeks. This complex spans 64 acres and offers business, financial, medical and dental services to a nice array of shopping, restaurants, an art studio, a chapel and a choice of indoor/outdoor exercise! Experiencing this park-like setting including a lake, walking/biking trails and some immaculately landscaped garden areas, is invariably a pleasure for my family!
  • Northwest Arkansas has many places and attractions to visit. One of the most historic and fun places to see is the Daisy BB Gun Museum, located at 202 W. Walnut, Rogers. Daisy is also one of the area’s largest employers and has been since 1958.

On my first tour of the museum I learned that the present day Daisy Outdoor Products Company started as a windmill making company in the 1800’s. Daisy later played a major and very important role, supporting the war effort in WWII by making…well you’ll have to take the tour and find out for yourself. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop where you can buy vintage-style airguns and the most up-to-date and exciting new Daisy BB Guns.

My daughter and I love spending time on the scenic Horsebarn Trailhead at the Rogers Greenway Trail System, located south of Walton Boulevard on 52nd Street in Rogers. There is a lovely park with slides, swings and all kinds of climbing apparatus for the kids, along with an outdoor exercise station area for adults. The park area has many shade trees, a delightful creek for skipping rocks or splashing around, and picnic tables for dining. To begin the trail at this park, you'll cross a creek using a charming bridge. Going north on the path takes you through some nice shade to connect to the Bentonville Trail (by Krispy Kreme…yum yum!). If you choose to head south, you can walk along another appealing path through more shade trees and open areas, all the way to Village on the Creeks. You can then continue along Horsebarn Road to New Hope Road where you meet up with the Osage Creek Trail.
