I'm originally from Wisconsin (Go Packers!) and my husband and I lived in Iowa until moving to Hot Springs Village in 2000. I had never heard of Hot Springs Village and honestly, I wasn't sure where Arkansas was! My parents had visited the area in the 1980's with friends that had heard about the area. After that initial visit and several more during the next few years my parents eventually moved to the Village after their retirement in 1990. It was a much smaller community at that time, probably about 1/2 the size it is now.
Over the next 10 years my husband and I visited frequently and thought that we would want to move here eventually also and in 2000 the timing was right! Jon continued his teaching career for a few more years and I worked in office administration at a local hospital until 2005 when I had the opportunity to pursue a career in real estate! On April 1, 2005 I passed the test in Little Rock to be granted my real estate sales associate license for the state of Arkansas after months of studying. Since it was April Fool's Day I was sure it was a joke but they assured me that I had succeeded!
After earning my license I was thrilled to become a part of Cooper Communities, working in the new homes division in Hot Springs Village. In my opinion, it was a great way to start my career, I learned a great deal about the Village and about construction methods for this area. I also learned from some of the best Realtors in the area. My time with Cooper increased my knowledge and prepared me the next adventure!
In 2007 I joined RE/MAX of Hot Springs Village and have been with them since. So far during this time I have earned my Broker license, Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation (SRES), Certified Residential Specialist designation (CRS), ePRO designation and I've attended several training classes in person and on line to keep up with new trends.
Through the years I've noticed the stress buyers and sellers have during the process of a home transaction and it is my goal to help my clients through the process to make it as smooth as possible. This takes knowledge of each step of the process and patience to get to a successful closing - I love to see the smiles on my clients faces when the transaction has closed, it makes it all worth the effort!
