    Sugarloaf Mountain is a beautiful landmark in Heber Springs. Sitting next to the Little Red River, the view from the top of the rock is breathtaking. The trails at Sugarloaf consist of the Summit Trail, considered the most difficult but offers benches along the way to rest; the Tonawanda Base Trail, a moderate trail but longer distance; the Hidden Pond Trail, which is handicap accessible; and the Wildlife Trail. This trail leads you to a small lake that often hosts flocks of ducks and geese, deer and other wildlife are often spotted as well. Pack up some water, a snack and of course a camera or smartphone to capture those beautiful moments.

    The Heber Springs Sports Center was built in 2017, by the City Of Heber Springs. The complex includes eight lighted baseball/softball fields, six soccer fields, two concession stands, all the dugouts are covered, each field has spectator seats, all electronic score boards, and an awesome play ground for all the kids to play on!

    The Old Post Office was built in 1937 as the Federal Building, holding the post office on the main floor and the other offices were in basement. The building was expanded in 1962 and sold to the county when a new post office was built in 1991. The county used the building as a District Court until 2013 and then it served as a county library. The county and the Historical Society have partnered in establishing a county Historical Center at the location. The Historical Society was originally located in the historic Frauenthal House in Heber Springs for more than 20 years. The Frauenthal House is still owned by the Historical Society but is no longer being used.

    Heber Springs is famous for it's annual Cardboard Boat Race. And it's exactly what it sounds like. Individuals and teams build a vessel made of cardboard to fit the theme of that year's races.     Every year, the town of Heber Springs hosts the largest display of fireworks in the whole state to celebrate the 4th of July. The Heber Springs Fireworks Extravaganza brings locals and tourists out to the beaches, marinas, and out on the water. On the beach there are festivities, a band, and so much more for people to do. Usually around 9:30 p.m. is when the fireworks begin. It's breathtaking. An even more stunning sight is the amount of boats floating on beautiful Greer's Ferry Lake, the people lining the shores, and the all around patriotism the vibe of the night gives off. It's definitely an event you don't want to miss!
