We stumbled upon the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Arkansas Nature Center downtown after shopping at the farmer's market on Saturday. Our oldest was three or so. It is a great place to stop by with your kiddos anytime you are downtown. They have some small animals and fish to observe and learn about. They also have information on many programs offered by AGFC, puzzles and play items, and interactive displays. There is no charge for admission, but they do have a place for donations and a gift shop.

I had a great experience at The Hall! I was able to see one of my favorite bands this past weekend and had a great experience! The band was awesome, as expected! The venue exceeded expectations! The Venue was clean, and the restrooms were clean! The staff was friendly and helpful, the AC was cold, the parking was easy, and I felt safe. I would highly recommend attending any event at The Hall!

We love to spend a few hours playing games as a family at D&Bs! They have play cards that you put tokens on and your tickets won are added to it as you play games. All info is kept on your card to purchase prizes with your tickets. They have a restaurant and bar with tons of TVs. You can even trade your tickets for food. Seriously fun for the whole family!

Finally did my first escape room at the Mystery Mansion with a group from work and it was so much fun! We did Riddle High and had to escape detention. The orientation was informative and covered all we would encounter once in the room very well. Going with a large group helped. Everyone had different suggestions and discoveries to contribute.

The SoMa district is full of great little shops and restaurants. I recently tried Mockingbird with some co-workers after an escape room outing (see another insight for that fun spot!). Everything was delicious. We ordered salsa, cheese dip, and guacamole for the table... all so fresh. I had the two plates with a smoked carrot taco and a few carnitas tacos. So yummy!! The interior and atmosphere are cozy and welcoming and even with our party of eight, the service was fast and consistent. Check it out!

The Outlets at Little Rock is really the only outlet for shopping in the Little Rock area. They have many great stores including Nike, Levi's, Osh Kosh, Children's Place, and Old Navy to name a few. We love that it's open to outside breezeways and one of our favorite things is the games they have set up in large open areas. We have played chess, connect four, and tic tac toe. They also have so many nice seating areas, some with electric fireplaces. Always a great day of shopping for our whole family!

Kris & Sam's is located at the corner of Bowman and Kanis in West Little Rock. This place has been around for years, and it's no surprise. Their box lunches and cookie treats are worth your time! I prefer the Mediterranean wrap when we go there for lunch.

I'm a prolific coffee consumer. The Heights neighborhood in Little Rock is home to Mugs Cafe! My go-to at any coffee shop is simple: vanilla latte! It's pretty hard to mess up. When I go to Mugs, I mix it up and get a honey vanilla latte. In my opinion, it's one of the best in all of Little Rock. If you're up for lunch, try the turkey swiss sandwich. In my humble opinion, it is the best sandwich in this area.

What a great place to go as a child. Have a birthday party to plan, but don't want the stress? Give them a call. They make it super easy on parents, without spending a ton of money. We've had several birthday parties here and I'm sure we'll have several more. Tons of fun games that are decent prices and the prizes aren't terrible. It's a great place to go with kids!

Arkansas is 53,182 square miles and is bordered on the east by the Mississippi River. It was acquired by the United States as part of the Louisiana Purchase and became the 25th state in 1836. Interestingly, Arkansas is the number one state in rice production in America which accounts for more than 45% of all rice grown in America.

Three projects that were found to have the highest ROI (return on investment) for adding value to a home were:

    1. Fixing window leaks.
    2. Remodeling the basement or a bathroom.
    3. Better insulating the attic.

When I purchased my own home three years ago, the first thing I did was to add additional insulation in my attic and add a second turbine. My electric bills run about 30% less than my neighbor's!

I was excited to find a hidden gem in Little Rock. It's called the Pavilion in the Park and even though I had been to the shopping center many times, I never realized that in the middle of the shopping center there is an amazing indoor area. After researching I found that some have even held weddings in this "indoor park". It would also be a great place to hold meetings or even have a reception. I have posted two pictures of the inside; one of them is of the fountain with a beautiful chandelier. I would highly recommend looking into renting this facility if you need an area that accommodates approximately 150 people.
