I am a lucky lady to have such beautiful and serene areas so close to home. Moving from Texas, which is beautiful in its own way, to Arizona, I am blown away by the scenery on a daily basis. Moccasin Gap is no exception. It has an extensive trail system rated for your level of expertise or comfort, as well as a camping area (RV and horse trailer) and a day-use parking area. The trail system here is well-marked and well-maintained. I personally trail ride, but ORV's are also allowed. The views and overlooks are stunning with water crossings and waterfalls as well! I cannot wait to go back!

Hummingbirds are more active during the month of August, their antics, speed and quick easy grace keep us all mesmerized.

Arkansas offers a wealth of entertainment opportunities from outdoor to on stage. I'm blessed to live in West Central Arkansas. Boating, camping, fishing, ATV and horse trails, and more are just minutes from my door. Horse racing, Blanchard Springs Caverns, multiple museums, arts, and more are close enough for a day trip. You couldn't help but fall in love with Noah on the new American Idol debut. He was just precious as he played the piano while singing so beautifully. He is (at the time of taping) a nursing student at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. Congratulations on getting that Golden Ticket to Hollywood! Wishing him the best of luck!

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has approved a regulation change that allows persons 21 and older to openly carry handguns for personal protection while on any wildlife management area or Commission controlled property or lake. Read full story and other Commission information here.

The walking and bicycle trail is now open that connects the Campus to the new Aquatic Center and the Bona Dea Trail. This is a great achievement for the city of Russellville. Come check it out.

City Mall is a place to shop, eat or just sit and watch the people.

Children's Miracle Network Fundraiser will be hosted by Kroger's on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the Kroger parking lot. They will have barbecue pork sandwiches, chips and a drink for $5. 80% of proceeds will go to charity, and 20% to store fund. Arkansas Blood Institute will be there for a blood drive.All participants will receive a Magic Springs ticket!

If you're wandering around the Russellville area today you will see that Cupid is at it again. It's Valentine's Day, the holiday to give your special someone a gift from the heart to let them know how much you care about them. Some say it's too commercialized, but others are anxiously awaiting those 12 long stemmed red roses from their sweethearts.

Russellville has so many great florists and boutiques that deliver the most beautiful arrangements and unique gifts. I opted to go pick up some spa gift cards for my sweeties. If you're a lover of theater, you may want to check out the upcoming events at The Center for The Arts. It is located on the Russellville High School campus and is a wonderful addition to the school. It also provides the community with a place to enjoy concerts, musical events, and plays. I've seen the upcoming agenda of a talent show and dinner, "The Three Musketeers", and "10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse." Another great addition to the Russellville community! It was a great Labor Day Weekend but now we slip into the next wonderful season - fall! Fall is one of my favorite seasons, You can take a hike around the Bona Dea Trail in Russellville. It's over 186 acres of woods and wetlands that you can hike from as little as 1/2 mile to 6 miles while admiring the changing of the leaves. You can also catch a glimpse of the changing of the leaves via some of the best mountain biking trails around.There is Mt. Nebo's Bench Trail, Moccassin Gap Trail, and the Ouita Coal Company Mountain Bike Trail, just to name a few. Don't forget, you can hike the trails up Mt. Nebo and zoom in those lenses for some of the most spectacular photographic views around! As the locals say, Happy Fall Y'all!

The Russellville City Council is working hard to help build the physical and retail landscape of Russellville. The city hired a company, Retail Strategies, to help with the task. There are many plans for commercial and economic development for the area. There are plans in place for a new convention center, a Hilton Hotel, and a shopping center.

Construction is underway for The Landing of Russellville! You may have noticed some clearing of the land on the north side of Interstate 40 in Russellville. The 120 room Hilton Garden Inn and the 18,000 sq.ft. Convention Center is sure to be a big attraction to the Russellville area. Russellville is continuing to grow in industrial and commercial development, in addition to being a great place to live!

Summer flower's in Arkansas are so beautiful and so easy to grow. Once you discover the flowers that do best in our climate zone and surroundings, nothing can stop them from giving their colorful "blooming" best. Our climate plus humidity is ideal for plants and trees.

Even the Arkansas Highway Department has started seeding flowers along its many miles of highways in a successful effort to beautify our state.

Arkansas is known as "The Natural State" and features 600 different types of wildflowers. The state highway and transportation department is now harnessing that beauty by using them on over 200,000 roadside acres. This practice helps the state with roadside maintenance and adds to the beauty of Arkansas. Just driving through the state, you can view over 1,000 miles of highway that have become part of this program that has created "Wildflower Routes" throughout the state. Residents and visitors can enjoy viewing the flowers every year.

I drove by Pope County Farm Bureau today on Parkway in Russellville and did a double take. Brett Favre's monster truck from the commercials is parked out front. Each time I've driven by there have been people there taking pictures. It appears the kids and adults alike love it. Of course, I stopped and took a picture too.

Hot air balloon festival will feature hot air balloon flights, tethered rides, balloon glow, powered parachutes, helicopter rides, monster truck rides, vendors, live entertainment, food, and more. Event will be held at the fairgrounds, 517 S Knoxville, Russellville on May 13-15, 2016. Sounds like fun for the whole family.

We have early blooming trees and shrubs in the River Valley area of Arkansas. March starts our beautiful blooming season with the flowering Hawthorn, ornamental Pear Trees, Red Bud trees, and Tulip trees all in bloom. Along with the trees, Red and Peach Quince bushes, beautiful yellow Forsythia bushes have also begun to flower. As their flowers end, other trees and bushes start to bloom, a never ending show!

If you are driving down Parkway in Russellville you'll see new commercial development. This is becoming one of the busier streets in Russellville. Over the last few years we've seen new businesses paving the way to better economic prosperity for this town. If you're looking for a place to start a new business, Russellville is definitely a good place to research!

The growth in the Russellville area is amazing. There are so many new businesses and restaurants opening up. As a real estate agent, it's wonderful to see clients coming in to ask for commercial property and land to bring new businesses and industries to the area. Being on the Arkansas River waterway, I40 frontage, and a railroad, there is so much potential for the area.
