Harrison is in a great location if you're a climber! It is only around an hour away from a majority of the rock climbing in the state, whether it's bouldering, sport climbing, or trad climbing. Horseshoe Canyon is one of the closest areas. This private crag has high concentration stuff in all three disciplines and is home to the famous 24 hours of Horseshoe Hell. The Sam's Throne Region consists of Sam's Throne proper (primarily trad) and a handful of satellite crags that offer mainly sport climbing. It is not uncommon to get a short day or work in and get some pitches in. When the weather gets hot, there are a handful of areas to water boulder along the Buffalo River. Elevate Sports is the climbing gym in Harrison. It offers bouldering, two auto-belays, and various training equipment.

Harrison is truly a hidden gem. There is so much to see and do for everyone including extensive nature trails, the world-renowned Buffalo River, and the Arkansas Grand Canyon. Enjoy other breathtaking views and access to beautiful crystal clear lakes. Harrison is a short 40-minute drive to the trout capital of the world, White River in Cotter, AR, and is only 30 minutes to Branson, MO. The list goes on. Established in 1924, Harrison Country Club is one of the oldest golf courses in northern Arkansas. HCC features an 18-hole golf course with bent grass greens that have been rated some of the finest in Arkansas. It also features a wonderful restaurant, pool, and tennis.

Dogpatch USA was a theme park located in northwest Arkansas along State Highway 7 between the cities of Harrison and Jasper, an area known today as Marble Falls. It was based on the comic strip Li'l Abner, created by cartoonist Al Capp and set in a fictional village called Dogpatch. The park opened in 1968 and closed in 1993.

There is a lot of good size land near and around the Buffalo River. This river is an amazing, beautiful, and natural place. The land that is around the area is perfect for building your dream home. Seclusion and peace is what you get when you move to Newton County near the Buffalo River.

Harrison and the surrounding Ozark Mountains region has a such a wonderful history that has resulted in a whole bunch of antique stores and flea markets. From antique toys to antique furniture, make sure you stop in and explore. You'll be surprised at what you find!

Mystic Caverns is located right in the heart of the Ozarks of Northwest Arkansas. You'll follow the path of our first settlers while a trained guide escorts you on your tour. The Ozarks Art Council has a wide range of activities to take in. Locals provide entertainment with plays and musical concerts. The theatre also has opportunities to volunteer.
